The Operational Readiness Preparation for Gondang Dam in Karanganyar Regency was carried out to ensure the safe and efficient management of the dam and its supporting infrastructure. Gondang Dam, located on the Melikan River, Karanganyar, Central Java, was completed in 2018 with a catchment area of 68.10 km² and serves multiple functions, including irrigation for 4,680 hectares, raw water supply, and flood control.
The project involved assessing operational and maintenance (O&M) requirements, evaluating instrumentation systems, and establishing an operational management framework. Key activities included documenting dam safety protocols, setting up an operational structure, and preparing emergency response plans. The study also focused on ensuring regulatory compliance, optimizing water resource utilization, and developing a long-term maintenance strategy to extend the dam’s lifespan.
By implementing data-driven planning and infrastructure resilience measures, this project ensures that Gondang Dam operates efficiently while mitigating potential risks associated with sedimentation and structural integrity.
Status: 100% Completed – Ready for Operation & Maintenance
