The Performance Assessment and Actual Needs for Operations and Maintenance (AKNOP) Development of Raw Water Infrastructure in West Papua was conducted to evaluate the functionality and operational efficiency of water supply networks across five regencies. The study covered seven distributed water intake systems in Manokwari, Teluk Bintuni, Maybrat, Kaimana, and Pegunungan Arfak, analyzing their condition and estimating the actual needs for operation and maintenance.

The assessment revealed that most raw water networks faced structural degradation due to aging infrastructure, sediment accumulation, and operational inefficiencies. Key findings included damaged pipelines, non-functional pumping stations, and insufficient reservoir capacity, necessitating rehabilitation and optimized maintenance strategies. The study provided a comprehensive cost analysis to support sustainable water resource management, ensuring long-term service reliability for local communities.

Through detailed hydrological analysis, structural evaluations, and maintenance planning, this project proposed tailored solutions to enhance water distribution efficiency and infrastructure resilience. Recommendations included pump station rehabilitation, sediment control measures, and the implementation of preventive maintenance protocols. By integrating data-driven planning and regulatory compliance, this initiative ensures that West Papua’s raw water systems remain operational, sustainable, and capable of meeting future demands.
