Reservoirs (embung) play a crucial role in water resource management<\/strong>, particularly in supporting agriculture, conservation, and raw water supply<\/strong>. However, many reservoirs in West Papua<\/strong> face challenges such as sedimentation, infrastructure deterioration, and suboptimal operations and maintenance (O&M)<\/strong>. This project focuses on conducting a Performance Assessment and formulating the Actual Needs for Operations and Maintenance (AKNOP)<\/strong> to enhance the sustainability and functionality of 27 reservoirs spread across the Kamundan Sebyar and Omba Watershed Regions<\/strong>, covering Sorong, Raja Ampat, Kaimana, and Fakfak<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our approach involves a comprehensive technical audit<\/strong>, including structural evaluations, hydrological and topographical surveys, institutional capacity assessments, and sedimentation analysis<\/strong> to determine the exact operational and maintenance needs. Utilizing modern survey equipment and advanced data analysis<\/strong>, this study provides precise recommendations for optimizing reservoir management. The findings serve as a strategic reference for local and national water management agencies<\/strong>, ensuring effective infrastructure planning and long-term sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This project aligns with national water resource regulations<\/strong>, including Law No. 17 of 2019 on Water Resources<\/strong>, Government Regulation No. 42 of 2008 on Water Resource Management<\/strong>, and Ministerial Regulation No. 06 of 2015 on Infrastructure Maintenance<\/strong>. The key deliverables include a Performance Assessment Report, Operations & Maintenance Planning, Cost Budget Plan (RAB), visual documentation, and thematic reservoir maps<\/strong>, ensuring that every aspect of infrastructure resilience is addressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By integrating a multidisciplinary approach<\/strong> and collaborating with Balai Wilayah Sungai (BWS) Papua Barat<\/strong> and PT. Globetek Glory Konsultan<\/strong>, this project provides a comprehensive framework for sustainable reservoir management<\/strong>. The goal is to maintain efficient water distribution, prevent infrastructure failure, and enhance the adaptive capacity of reservoirs in West Papua<\/strong>. Through fact-based analysis and structured O&M planning<\/strong>, this initiative aims to create a more resilient and efficient water resource system<\/strong> for the region, benefiting both communities and the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
